About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales: Maintain client relationships and coordinate with sales and account management teams.
  • Specialized Portfolio Management: Manage insurance programs tailored to the specific industries tied to the Storable technology platform.
  • Carrier & Broker Relations: Lead negotiations for high-value renewals and program expansions with top-rated P&C carriers, focusing on competitive pricing and comprehensive coverage for Storage, RV parks & Campground, and Marina operators.
  • Risk Mitigation & Loss Control: Develop and implement targeted loss control strategies specifically for storage facilities, RV parks & campgrounds, and Marinas (e.g., fire, flood, and theft prevention).
  • Review contracts & agreements: Understanding from a risk management perspective and advise customers on insurance requirements, indemnification, subrogation, hold harmless and awareness/assumption of risk, and identify any loss prevention recommendations to be established.
  • Operational Advocacy: Act as a senior advocate for clients during complex claims; coordinate with legal and IT teams to integrate insurance workflows into the Storable technology ecosystem.
  • Strategic System Leadership: Oversee the optimization of Applied Epic for all P&C operations, ensuring accurate real-time data for policy administration, renewals, and claims.
  • Program Design & Launch: Conceptualization, structural design, and implementation of new proprietary insurance programs and alternative risk transfer solutions.
  • Captive Oversight: Manage the operational and financial performance of captive entities, including coordination with captive managers, actuaries.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 7–10+ years of P&C insurance experience with a heavy focus on Commercial Lines and Property Portfolios; Prior experience in a leadership role for a commercial insurance agency is desirable.
  • Competency in risk mitigation, safety, and loss control for commercial insurance customers.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent required.
  • Technical Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in Applied Epic is mandatory, including experience in workflow automation and reporting.
  • Industry Knowledge: Commercial Insurance Lines knowledge for various industries.
  • Licensing: Active P&C Producer License required.
  • Knowledge of fundamental risk management and loss control practices.
  • Knowledge of insurance policies, coverages, and insurance operations.
  • Understanding of property, liability, and workers’ compensation claims management processes.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and MS Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Professionalism, quality, accuracy, and customer service oriented.
  • Data Literacy: Ability to leverage Applied Epic data to identify book performance trends and underperforming segments.
  • Strategic Negotiation: Proven track record of managing large-scale commercial renewals and carrier relationships.
  • Leadership: Experience leading cross-functional teams (Sales, IT, and Underwriting) in a fast-paced technology-driven environment.
  • Presentations: Ability to develop and deliver high level informative and professional presentations to small and large groups.

Nice to Have Qualifications

  • Possessing advisory, consultative, or account management experience is a plus.
  • ART: Alternative Risk Transfer experience in captives is a plus.
  • Prior experience in Commercial Real Estate, Self-storage, RV & Campground, and Marina insurance markets a plus.
