Responsibilities
Own end-to-end payroll execution across all active entities and pay schedules, including multi-state US payroll (varying frequencies and commission cycles), UK PAYE with HMRC filings, National Insurance, pension auto-enrolment, and statutory pay; Canadian federal/provincial remittances, ROE, CPP/EI; Singapore CPF, MOM compliance, IR8A; UAE WPS and gratuity; plus contractor payroll with IC agreements and 1099-equivalent filings.
Coordinate with EOR providers, validate invoices against actuals, resolve discrepancies, and turn distributed model into auditable workflow.
Process payments; support Finance with general ledger journals, month-end reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Ensure accurate reflection of payroll liabilities, accruals, and disbursements across entities.
Manage cycle-by-cycle processing for variable compensation, partnering with Finance and Revenue Operations on timing, accuracy, and tax withholding.
Stay ahead of evolving payroll tax requirements across all jurisdictions.
Manage year-end processes including W-2s, P60s, P45s, T4s, and international equivalents; ensure timely and accurate regulatory filings (monthly, quarterly, annual).
Reconcile benefits deductions against carrier invoices; manage international statutory leave top-up calculations.
Lead new country payroll setup: systems configuration, testing, and end-to-end execution as company expands.
Serve as trusted resource for employees on payroll questions, tax situations, payslip discrepancies, and equity withholding (especially during tax filing and open enrollment).
Identify manual inefficiencies and build scalable workflows integrating with Finance and HR systems.
Requirements
6–10+ years of payroll experience, ideally in a high-growth, global technology company.
Experience with Rippling Payroll.
Strong command of US multi-state payroll, including multi-frequency schedules and state-specific compliance.
International payroll experience across at least two of: UK, Canada, Singapore, or UAE.
Experience managing EOR and third-party payroll vendors: coordinating, reviewing outputs for accuracy, holding vendors accountable.
Regulatory expertise and compliance instincts: proactively research evolving requirements.
Systems proficiency and aptitude for learning new tools quickly.
Analytical rigor and strong documentation habits: high accuracy, attention to detail, auditor-ready paper trail.
Clear, effective communication: partner with Finance, Legal, and People teams; explain complex topics to employees.
Proactive, systems-minded approach: spot inefficiencies early and build better processes.

Familiarity with equity compensation tax and withholding (RSUs, options).
Experience supporting global entity setup and new-country payroll launches.
CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or equivalent certification.
