Responsibilities
- Own the architecture of the end-to-end trading platform, including the sequencer, low-latency connectivity and messaging fabric, OMS/EMS, multi-venue connectivity, and execution.
- Design low-latency, high-throughput systems for real-time financial products across institutional and retail markets.
- Drive reliability and performance by owning SLOs, observability, and incident response.
- Reduce single points of failure across the trading stack and build team resilience through mentorship.
- Set technical standards through code, design reviews, and technical-debt reduction.
- Partner with Product, Risk, Security, and Compliance to turn technical vision into a roadmap.
Requirements
- Hands-on architecture experience designing, building, deploying, and supporting 24/7 trading systems processing billions of dollars in daily transactions.
- Extensive backend engineering experience owning complex, production-grade distributed systems.
- Experience architecting end-to-end trading platforms, including OMS, front/middle office, and multi-exchange connectivity.
- Deep proficiency in low-latency Java and high-throughput messaging such as Aeron, SBE, or similar technologies.
- Experience delivering projects end-to-end, including scoping, architecture, implementation, monitoring, and iteration.
- Experience in regulated or financial environments where correctness, auditability, and low-latency performance are critical.
- Experience making user-facing product decisions that balance engineering trade-offs with end-user quality, demonstrated through shipped products.
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and measurable workflow improvements.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base salary: $253,895–$298,700 USD.
- Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
