Responsibilities
- Define and drive multi-quarter technical strategy for FinHub’s ledger and money-movement platform.
- Architect reusable primitives for fiat and crypto fund flows, including balances, holds, settlements, postings, transfers, and transaction history.
- Lead the rearchitecture of distributed financial workflows and state transitions, enforcing double-entry accounting, idempotency, invariants, reconciliation, auditability, and safe failure recovery.
- Drive end-to-end design and rollout of complex, cross-team initiatives, including milestones, migration plans, and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with Payments, Product, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Operations stakeholders.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and raise standards for system design, operational excellence, technical writing, and maintainability.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience.
- Track record building and operating large-scale backend distributed systems in production.
- Deep experience with financial, payments, ledger, banking, trading, or other high-consequence transaction systems.
- Expertise in distributed systems, consistency models, asynchronous workflows, and state machines.
- Strong backend programming experience in Go, Java, or Python.
- Experience driving multi-quarter technical strategy and complex architectural initiatives across multiple engineering teams without direct authority.
- Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs and align executive, engineering, product, finance, and operations stakeholders.
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.
Compensation
- Annual base salary: $253,895–$298,700 USD, excluding equity and bonus.
- Eligible for equity, bonus, and medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits.
