Senior Software Engineer
Build and evolve the cloud infrastructure, CI/CD platforms, and GitOps standards powering Okta’s AI platform and broader workloads. The role requires 6+ years of hands-on software, cloud, and large-scale infrastructure experience, with deep expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Argo tooling, Terraform, and Helm.

Responsibilities
- Architect and build resilient, scalable cloud solutions using AWS, Kubernetes, and modern GitOps tools.
- Define CI/CD architectural standards, deployment pipelines, and orchestration frameworks using Argo CD, Argo Events, and Argo Workflows.
- Partner with business stakeholders, product managers, AI teams, security teams, and architects to align technical roadmaps and deliver developer platforms.
- Own engineering deliverables from discovery and proof of concept through production deployment.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation in Confluence.
- Use DORA and other engineering effectiveness metrics to optimize platform performance, delivery speed, and reliability.
- Provide level-of-effort estimates and communicate feasibility, architectural trade-offs, and risk mitigations.
- Write clean, modular code and comprehensive unit, integration, and functional test suites.
Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in software development, cloud systems design, and large-scale infrastructure engineering.
- Deep expertise in Argo CD, Argo Events, Argo Workflows, Kubernetes, and EKS.
- Proficiency with Terraform and Helm Charts for infrastructure as code.
- Strong coding skills in Python and/or Java.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, or pytest.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, Secrets Manager, RDS, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
- Knowledge of cloud networking, including ingress/egress configuration, DNS, VPC routing, and secure secrets management.
- Experience with GitHub, GitLab, ECR, and JFrog Artifactory.
- Familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, and Splunk for monitoring and metrics aggregation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, clear technical documentation abilities, collaboration skills, and an Agile background.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI/ML technologies, orchestration frameworks, vector databases, or search architectures such as Kendra, Bedrock, Anthropic Claude, or Gemini.
- Experience building Internal Developer Platforms, developer self-service portals, golden paths, and policy guardrails.
- Production experience with Istio or Linkerd in high-throughput Kubernetes environments.
- Kubernetes certifications such as CKA, CKS, or CKAD.
- AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Professional or Security Specialty.
