Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Define the team’s purpose and areas of ownership, ensuring goals are understood and internalized.
• Establish principles and frameworks that enable independent day-to-day prioritization.
• Plan, prioritize, and staff team work in collaboration with product managers.
• Set and update the team roadmap and allocate team members to projects.
• Build and maintain a motivated, collaborative team culture.
• Support team members in achieving their career goals.
• Recruit, interview, and onboard engineering talent.
• Contribute to and lead engineering-wide initiatives that improve engineering excellence and scalability.
• Own team outcomes by introducing effective processes and maintaining accountability.
• Represent the team across the organization and collaborate with product, design, support, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• 6+ years of overall software development experience.
• 2+ years of management experience.
• Experience managing and coaching 3+ direct reports in a fast-paced environment.
• Track record of building scalable, high-performance systems.
• Strong focus on customer satisfaction and user experience.
• Empathetic communication skills and the ability to express nuanced ideas clearly to different audiences.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.
