Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Team Development
Lead and develop three experienced Managers and their teams, comprising approximately 40 engineers and contractors across Integrations, Workflows and Orchestration, and Data Management.
Set the multi-quarter roadmap across the three pillars, balancing connector and workflow capacity, platform reliability, data quality, and compliance priorities.
Build a high-performance engineering culture focused on ownership, accountability, and operational excellence across distributed, event-driven systems.
Drive headcount planning, organizational design, and career development frameworks.
Partner with the VP of Software Engineering on platform strategy and organizational decisions.
Establish prioritization frameworks for integrations, workflow reliability, data quality remediation, and customer escalations.
Integrations
Own the strategy and roadmap for native integrations and APIs connecting the platform to CRM, marketing automation, sales engagement, data warehouse, and BI systems.
Guide scalable, fault-tolerant backend services and event-driven integration patterns.
Prioritize connector development and partner/ISV integrations.
Ensure integrations meet enterprise standards for reliability, throughput, observability, and security at scale.
Define integration requirements, SLAs, and go-to-market timelines with Product and Cloud Partners teams.
Oversee API and webhook strategy, including versioning, documentation, and developer experience.
Workflows and Orchestration
Own the strategic direction for the workflow orchestration engine supporting lead-to-account matching and cross-system business processes.
Guide architecture decisions for orchestration platforms that provide reliable execution, retries, state management, and durable long-running processes.
Drive no-code/low-code workflow capabilities for conditional data transformation, routing, and enrichment.
Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, scalability, and observability across workflow systems.
Define execution guarantees and expand orchestration capabilities to new use cases.
Establish best practices for workflow design, idempotency, and error handling.
Data Management
Own data quality and data management capabilities, including deduplication, standardization, enrichment, and continuous verification.
Guide matching-and-merging logic, enrichment waterfalls, and real-time change detection.
Enforce validation rules and real-time data quality checks at the point of entry.
Own compliance and governance capabilities, including suppression lists and audit trails.
Partner with Product and Legal/Compliance on data handling standards.
Drive monitoring of data quality metrics and proactive remediation.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Enablement
Partner with stakeholders to define connector, workflow, and data quality requirements and SLAs.
Drive documentation, training, and onboarding programs.
Represent the organization in strategic planning, company projects, and technology decisions.
Manage vendor and partner relationships and contracts.
Requirements
10+ years of progressive experience in software/platform engineering, integrations, or data engineering leadership.
At least 4 years at the Director level or above.
Experience leading and scaling engineering organizations of 25+ people through managers.
Strong working knowledge of backend and distributed-systems technologies, including Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, NestJS, Kafka, and workflow orchestration platforms such as Temporal or Google Cloud Workflows.
Experience owning integrations or connector ecosystems across CRM, marketing automation, sales engagement, and data warehouse platforms.
Demonstrated ability to manage through managers and hold leaders accountable for outcomes.
Experience with data quality and management capabilities.
Lead and scale Runpod's core cloud and bare-metal infrastructure, including SRE, global/HPC networking, and distributed storage for massive GPU/AI workloads. Requires 8+ years operating large-scale distributed systems plus 7+ years leading infrastructure/SRE teams (managing managers).
