401 Compliance Associate

Responsibilities

Annual Compliance Administration

  • Prepare compliance testing packages and employer contribution calculations for 401(k) clients.
  • Reconcile plan activity and prepare Form 5500s for large and conversion clients.
  • Assist 401(k) plan auditors by providing requested plan information and data samples.

Daily Administration

  • Support advanced compliance processes, including plan amendments, terminations, conversions, and deconversions.
  • Analyze operational errors and calculate missed deferral opportunities, lost earnings, and other corrective actions.
  • Draft 401(k) plan documents for conversion plans and configure them in the proprietary recordkeeping system.

General Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Client Experience teams to provide a unified client experience.
  • Follow current procedures and controls and recommend improvements for efficiency and scalability.
  • Investigate operational challenges and collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams on solutions.

Requirements

  • Some experience in the 401(k) retirement industry.
  • Interest in pursuing QKA and other ASPPA certifications.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with FTWilliam or similar compliance testing software.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
