Senior Counsel, Commercial Legal

Responsibilities

• Partner with enterprise, commercial, and mid-market sales teams, customer success, and professional services to close deals quickly on risk-balanced terms.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements and intellectual property licenses, including SaaS, partnership, professional services, and vendor agreements.
• Build and continuously improve contract templates, playbooks, and other resources to make deals faster and more consistent.
• Track legal operational and business metrics, including the impact of AI tools and workflows.
• Advise internal clients and leadership on legal matters involving growth and innovation.
• Support product, marketing, community relations, and similar teams as needed.
• Use AI tools and workflows to accelerate drafting and negotiation while developing scalable team processes.
• Mentor junior members of the Legal Team.

Requirements

• JD or equivalent degree from an accredited law school.
• License to practice in an applicable jurisdiction.
• At least 8 years of relevant legal experience.
• Extensive experience with commercial agreements and intellectual property licenses.
• Strong knowledge of commercial law, IP law, data protection regulations, and other regulatory requirements.
• Ability to build trusted strategic-advisor relationships and translate complex issues into practical guidance.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive resolution of open issues.
• Demonstrated AI fluency, including building an AI tool, workflow, or process that measurably improved speed or scale.
• Willingness to operate as an individual contributor in a high-growth environment.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary: $165,000–$220,000.
