About the role

What You'll Do

  • Own the Discovery Lifecycle: Lead the end-to-end e-discovery process, including researching electronic records, mapping data environments, and managing the defensive gathering of information.
  • Drive Data Preservation: Design, implement, and audit legal hold policies to ensure all relevant information is captured and secured across our tech stack (Slack, Jira, AWS, etc.).
  • Bridge the Gap with Outside Counsel: Serve as the primary point of contact for outside counsel, ensuring they have the materials needed for litigation while preventing redundant work or over-collection.
  • Investigative Fact Finding: Proactively identify internal witnesses, document their knowledge, and assist in preparing them for depositions and discovery.
  • Policy Architecture: Draft and implement critical legal policies, including how OpenLoop handles service of process, litigation workflows, and media inquiries.
  • High-Volume Management: Efficiently handle routine subpoena requests and discovery motions without losing sight of larger litigation milestones.

Who You Are

  • A Natural Investigator: You are proactive about identifying gaps in our data and determining the most efficient path to fill them.
  • Clear and Direct: You are comfortable advising senior partners and stakeholders while remaining just as effective when "translating" complex legal needs for our engineering and product teams.
  • Detail Oriented: You understand that in nationwide litigation, the smallest oversight in a legal hold can have massive consequences.

Required Qualifications

  • 4-8 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably with a mix of "Big Law" training and in-house experience.
  • Deep E-Discovery Expertise: Advanced knowledge of electronic records management and discovery software (e.g., Relativity, Logikcull, or similar).
  • Class Action Experience: Proven track record of supporting large-scale, multi-jurisdictional litigation.
  • Tech Literacy: Ability to navigate modern cloud-based work environments and explain technical data structures to outside counsel.
