About the role
Impact (Responsibilities)
Provide technical leadership for strategic customers' cloud transformations on large-scale data warehousing workloads, from evaluation to production deployment.
Architect production workloads to prove Databricks value, including end-to-end pipeline performance testing and optimization.
Become a technical expert in data warehousing evaluations or workload migrations.
Assist Solution Architects with advanced technical sales, custom POCs, workload sizing, performance estimation, and production tuning.
Provide tutorials, training, hackathons, and conference presentations.
Contribute to the Databricks Community.
What We Look For (Requirements)
5+ years experience in a technical role with data warehousing expertise (query tuning, performance tuning, troubleshooting, data governance, MPP data warehouses, big data solutions, or migrations).
Experience designing and implementing data warehousing technologies: relational databases, SQL, data analytics, NoSQL, MPP, OLTP, OLAP.
Deep expertise in at least one area:
Scaling large analytical workloads in the cloud (performant and cost-effective).
Maintaining/extending/migrating production data warehouses (data modeling, governance, BI integration).
Migrating on-premise EDW to public cloud.
Production programming in SQL and Python, Scala, or Java.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
2+ years with data warehousing/big data technologies (e.g., SQL, Redshift, SAP, Synapse, EMR, OLAP/OLTP).
2+ years customer-facing experience in pre-sales or post-sales.
Ability to meet technical training expectations within 6 months; up to 30% travel.
Deployment Engineer responsible for end-to-end customer deployments of Squint's industrial AI/AR knowledge graph platform. Write production code for custom integrations, workflows, and data pipelines; spend time on factory floors gathering requirements and proving value; translate field learnings into product feedback. Requires 3+ years software engineering experience and comfort with ambiguity and travel.
