Summary

Plans and executes flagship corporate events like Ship and Next.js Conf, managing end-to-end logistics, budgets, and cross-functional teams to drive awareness, demand, and community growth. Requires 4-6 years of experience with large-scale conferences and developer-focused events.

About the role

What You'll Do

  • Execute Vercel's flagship events: Support the editorial calendar and creative direction for Ship, Next.js Conf, and more coordinating across launches, narrative arcs, and the partner ecosystem.
  • Deliver world-class execution: Lead end-to-end planning and stagecraft (budgeting, vendors, programming, production, branding, on-site ops) with clear targets for attendance, NPS, influenced pipeline, and content reach.
  • Help shape the story: Collaborate with PMM and leadership to develop keynotes, demos, and narrative arcs; and help curate a speaker bench of customers, OSS leaders, and partners.
  • Drive high-impact sponsored presence: Execute activations for AWS re:Invent and other key industry events—ensuring Vercel's presence is unmissable.
  • Connect events to company goals: Work closely with product, developer relations, sales, and marketing to ensure each event drives measurable awareness, demand, and community growth.
  • Manage budgets and logistics: Track event spend, reconcile invoices, and support forecasting and ROI modeling; contribute to the event tech stack to attribute impact end to end.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams: Provide day-to-day coordination with design, video, and PMM, and manage agencies and contractors to deliver at scale.
  • Support global programming: Assist with multi-region timing, localization, and follow-the-sun programming as Vercel expands tier-1 events internationally in 2026.
  • Track and report on outcomes: Maintain KPIs for reach, engagement, pipeline impact, and brand lift—and surface data-driven insights to optimize future events.
  • Experiment with format and experience: Contribute ideas and execution for in-person, hybrid, and virtual formats that meet our audiences where they are while staying true to Vercel's developer-first DNA.

What You Bring

  • Solid event management experience: 4–6 years in event planning and execution, including hands-on experience running conferences or product launches with 1000+ attendees.
  • Familiarity with global industry stages: Working knowledge of events like AWS re:Invent, with the operational skill to execute effectively in competitive environments.
  • Detail-oriented and organized: You thrive in the weeds—run-of-show documents, speaker prep, A/V coordination, and vendor management are where you shine.
  • Commercial awareness: You understand how events connect to pipeline impact, sponsorship value, and ROI, and can report on those metrics clearly.
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator: Skilled at working across teams and managing external partners to a high standard.
  • Developer empathy: You understand how to speak to and design for technical audiences—engineers, CTOs, and product leaders.
  • Operational rigor: Proven ability to deliver complex events on time and on budget, with solid contingency planning and attention to compliance.
