Impact You Will Have
- Shape key data science areas: segmentation, recommendation systems, forecasting, product analytics, churn prediction and insights.
- Work with Engineering, Product Management, Sales and Customer Success to understand usage patterns and make data-driven decisions.
- Manage stakeholders: gather requirements, define OKRs, communicate progress to non-technical audiences.
- Mentor junior data scientists on project planning, technical decisions, code and document review.
- Represent data science organization-wide to promote data-driven culture.
- Build self-serving internal data products.
- Represent Databricks at conferences and events.
What We Look For
- 7+ years of data science, machine learning, advanced analytics experience in high-velocity, high-growth companies.
- Extensive experience applying Data Science/ML for end-to-end development and deployment of data-driven products.
- Familiarity with product data science: adoption, churn, cohorts, segmentation, funnel analysis.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders across Product, Sales, Engineering, Marketing, Finance.
- Strong coding skills in Scala or Python, familiarity with software engineering principles (testing, code reviews, deployment).
- Proficient in data analysis and visualization using R and Python.
- Experience with distributed data processing like Spark, proficiency in SQL.
- MS or PhD in quantitative fields (Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Physics, Economics, Operational Research, Engineering).
