About the role
Responsibilities
Deploy AtomEngine into live military training environments, including classified and air-gapped systems.
Work directly at various customer sites in person, embedded with customers to understand their needs, iterate alongside them, and ensure successful deployments.
Configure and extend entities, features, behaviors, sensors, and operational scenarios through AtomEngine tooling and scripting to reflect real-world requirements.
Support integration and connectivity between AtomEngine and partner systems, including troubleshooting APIs, networking, and infrastructure dependencies.
Troubleshoot technical issues in real time during high-visibility exercises, sometimes in front of large audiences, and implement technical fixes.
When not supporting active exercises, proactively identify and implement improvements from the enhancement backlog, contributing directly to the engineering backlog alongside the Software Engineering team using technologies such as Godot, C++, C#, and Python.
Explain technical concepts clearly to military stakeholders, partners, and internal teams.
Translate real-world friction into actionable feedback for Product and Engineering, articulating military context and operational priority.
Improve documentation and repeatability so deployments scale over time.
Travel at least 50% of the time to customer sites.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or another customer-facing engineering role involving hands-on development.
Demonstrated experience writing and maintaining production-quality software, with proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C++, C#, Python, GDScript, or similar.
Experience troubleshooting software systems, integrations, networking, or distributed applications.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Comfortable working independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while collaborating closely with customers and engineering teams.
Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
Prior military experience.
Willingness and ability to work onsite at various customer locations traveling at least 50% of the time.
