  • Design and implement full-stack product experiences across frontend, backend APIs, data models, permissions, service integrations, and deployment paths.
  • Modernize the Nylas Dashboard into a fast, polished, cohesive control plane for developers and technical teams.
  • Build AI-native and agent-facing experiences that help users configure products, understand errors, debug integrations, apply best practices, and operate Nylas more effectively.
  • Work across Email, Calendar, Scheduler, Notetaker, Inbound Email, Transactional Send, Domains, Logs, and Agent Accounts.
  • Partner with backend and platform teams to design clean APIs and service boundaries.
  • Profile, measure, and optimize Dashboard interactions for speed and responsiveness.
  • Create reusable abstractions and shared patterns for consistent product development.
  • Improve onboarding, activation, self-serve configuration, troubleshooting, and product discovery.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation and improve quality.
  • Ship incrementally using customer feedback, product intuition, and technical judgment.
  • Collaborate with Design, Product, Customer Success, Solutions Engineering, and Developer Relations.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a software engineer building user-facing products.
  • Strong full-stack engineering experience, especially with React, TypeScript, and component-driven architecture.
  • Experience building backend APIs, services, data models, and production integrations.
  • Product mindset with attention to usability, information architecture, developer experience, performance, and product quality.
  • Experience building products for developers, technical users, internal platforms, or complex B2B SaaS workflows.
  • Systems thinking and experience creating reusable abstractions, composable components, shared patterns, and clean APIs.
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous product areas and make pragmatic tradeoffs.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Bias toward shipping and iterating based on feedback.
  • Experience using AI tools in a development workflow.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with dashboards, developer portals, control planes, admin surfaces, or platform products.
  • Experience with Next.js, GraphQL, REST APIs, Go, gRPC, Postgres, Redis, or cloud-native service architectures.
  • Experience building observability, logging, debugging, billing, authentication, authorization, or configuration surfaces.
  • Experience on horizontal platform teams.
  • Experience building agent-powered products, AI-assisted workflows, or LLM-powered developer tools.
  • Experience with Figma and v0.
  • Open source contributions, especially in React, TypeScript, frontend infrastructure, or developer tooling.
