About the role
Responsibilities
Advise on all aspects of employee benefits and compensation tax issues in both transactional and day-to-day contexts
Serve as in-house advisor on U.S. and cross-border tax matters related to equity and cash incentive plans (Section 409A, RSUs, stock options, deferred compensation)
Provide tax support on M&A, financing, joint ventures, and restructurings, including impacts on compensation/equity programs
Perform analysis and documentation of tax positions for corporate transactions and compensation initiatives
Act as cross-functional resource for stakeholders on tax questions and support compliant project implementation
Develop and implement policies for ongoing compliance of plans with US and foreign tax requirements
Provide tax technical support for external audits
Collaborate with external global advisors on equity/compensation tax impacts
Support compensation-related corporate governance and disclosures
Requirements
6-10 years of equity, compensation, and benefits tax experience, including law firm (Big Law tax or Big 4 tax) experience
JD required
Deep expertise with US federal and international tax rules for executive compensation, benefits, and employment taxes
M&A experience including equity/compensation tax due diligence, integration, and review of transaction documents
Exceptional communication skills for translating complex tax issues
Strong analytical and organizational skills for managing multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or LLM in taxation
Experience in high-growth environments
Industry experience in technology, payments, or financial services at a multinational organization
Experience using AI technologies and building AI agents to automate finance workflows
