QA Engineer

The QA Engineer owns functional, integration, exploratory, and regression testing for mission-critical satellite operations software. The role requires at least two years of QA experience, API and web application testing expertise, strong defect investigation skills, and close collaboration with product and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own functional, integration, and exploratory testing for new features and evolving product workflows.
  • Contribute to regression coverage for existing functionality.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and regression suites based on product requirements and customer workflows.
  • Test mission-critical workflows, including contact planning, collision avoidance, task automation, and incident management.
  • Identify, reproduce, document, and track defects through resolution.
  • Test REST APIs and backend workflows in addition to user-facing functionality.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers throughout feature development to identify edge cases and clarify requirements.
  • Use logs, observability tools, browser developer tools, and other technical resources to investigate unexpected behavior.
  • Use automation and AI-assisted tools to improve testing depth, repeatability, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with manual software testing, including functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
  • Experience translating product requirements and user workflows into structured test plans and test cases.
  • Experience with test management platforms such as Rally, Zephyr, TestRail, Xray, or similar.
  • Strong defect investigation and documentation skills, including reliable reproduction and clear communication of expected and actual behavior.
  • Experience testing web applications and complex user workflows.
  • Experience testing REST APIs using Postman, Insomnia, curl, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with browser developer tools, application logs, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with Git and modern software development workflows.
  • 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance or a related role.
  • Experience testing complex production software systems.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance preferred but not required.
  • Must satisfy applicable U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: $95,000–$115,000 annually.
  • Unlimited PTO with a required 15 days off.
