Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across autonomy, integration, and testing, aligning technical efforts and driving mission-focused execution.
  • Provide hands-on technical oversight while optimizing performance, advancing innovation, and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Lead development of autonomous behaviors for VTOL and fixed-wing aircraft.
  • Guide work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, task and motion planning, and controls.
  • Architect solutions, establish software engineering standards, drive technical improvements, and mentor engineers.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts to understand customer needs and implement autonomy solutions.
  • Integrate autonomy products with third-party systems.
  • Develop, test, analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize autonomy algorithms for aerospace, defense, and robotic systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience developing and integrating autonomy algorithms in robotics, aerospace, or defense systems.
  • 2+ years managing technical teams.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python; familiarity with real-time operating systems.
  • Experience with sensing, estimation, path planning, and data fusion.
  • Significant experience with unmanned systems and air-domain algorithms.
  • Experience with simulation tools and environments such as AFSIM and NGTS.
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master’s degree.
  • Mathematical background in linear and nonlinear control theory and autonomous systems algorithms.
  • Experience deriving and implementing motion models and controllers for trajectory generation and tracking.
  • Experience with UCI and OMS standards.
  • Active SECRET clearance.
