Manager, Corporate Network Engineering

Leads a small team responsible for the architecture, reliability, security, automation, and delivery of Anthropic’s global corporate campus and edge networks. The role requires 10+ years of enterprise networking experience, people management, and deep expertise in network operations and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the Corporate Network Engineering team, including hiring, development, performance, planning, and prioritization.
  • Set technical direction and own architecture standards across edge networking, campus switching, wireless, segmentation, out-of-band management, and telemetry.
  • Review designs and risky changes, and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Own reliability and operations, including actionable monitoring, incident response, post-incident reviews, sustainable on-call and escalation models, change safety, and lifecycle currency.
  • Move the fleet toward network-as-code through templated configuration, change control, staged rollouts, drift detection, and automation.
  • Partner with Security Engineering and Detection & Response on network authentication, segmentation, and network-based detection.
  • Deliver networks for new offices and research facilities and upgrade existing sites through live migrations while minimizing disruption.
  • Own vendor, carrier, and integrator relationships and the network hardware budget, including evaluations, contracts, lead times, and refresh planning.

Requirements

  • 10+ years designing, building, and operating enterprise campus and edge networks, including an environment with dozens of sites across regions.
  • 5+ years leading engineers, including at least 3 years as a people manager.
  • Strong technical judgment spanning architecture, protocol behavior, and failure modes.
  • Experience operating networks, including out-of-band access, actionable monitoring, sustainable on-call models, and change safety.
  • Experience with vendor evaluations and cross-functional problem solving.
  • Clear communication with engineers, executives, contractors, and landlords.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field.

  • Led corporate networking at a rapidly expanding company.
  • Implemented certificate-based network authentication, such as 802.1X/EAP-TLS, and identity- or device-based segmentation at scale.
  • Shipped network configuration as code and telemetry pipelines used by security and support teams.
  • Designed dense wireless for large event spaces and high-occupancy floors.
  • Led office builds with real estate and construction teams, including networks supporting physical security systems.
  • Managed integrators, MSPs, or smart-hands providers while retaining design authority in-house.

  • Enterprise firewalls and routing, including HA design, routing protocols, and fleet-wide policy management
  • Campus switching and high-density enterprise wireless
  • L2/L3 network design, redundancy, RF design, and 6 GHz wireless

Compensation

  • Annual salary: $285,000–$325,000 USD
  • Hybrid policy: Staff are expected to work from an office at least 25% of the time.
