Scientific Program Analyst

Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination, evaluation, and communication for the Division of Clinical Research at NINDS.
• Serve as a programmatic point of contact for administrative checklists and documentation before award release.
• Support existing projects and the development, initiation, and execution of new initiatives.
• Organize project documentation and communications; track progress, milestones, deliverables, action items, and deadlines.
• Coordinate program activities, agendas, meetings, background materials, minutes, workshops, conferences, symposia, lectures, and teleconferences.
• Maintain spreadsheets, databases, repositories, Listservs, presentations, and other program-management tools.
• Request, provide, and exchange information with principal investigators, program staff, grantees, network investigators, stakeholders, and other participants.
• Conduct literature and database searches using PubMed, Web of Science, and other sources.
• Organize, analyze, interpret, and condense scientific, programmatic, and progress-report data.
• Prepare reports, tables, graphs, charts, abstracts, posters, slide presentations, handouts, agendas, and background materials.
• Review, draft, edit, revise, and proofread scientific and programmatic documents.
• Represent programs at local and national meetings; prepare and deliver formal presentations and posters.
• Provide project-management support for large or complex projects with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop outreach, education, interaction, database, and reporting strategies and tools.
• Analyze program activities, policies, procedures, processes, systems, and budgetary data; recommend improvements.
• Organize and write project reports and scientific papers.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Neuroscience.
• Scientific background relevant to clinical research and program support.
• Knowledge of NIH grants and funding mechanisms.
• Knowledge of Funding Opportunity Announcements.
• Knowledge of human subjects research protection and research conduct and compliance.
• Experience with clinical research, clinical trials, portfolio analysis, data analysis, scientific writing, reports, and agendas.
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, WebEx, and Word.
