Applied Research Scientist, AI Research
Applied research scientists develop deep-learning and generative media systems for video, audio, and multimodal editing features that ship to millions of users. The role requires strong PyTorch or TensorFlow skills, rapid experimentation, and evidence of impactful research or production machine-learning work.

Responsibilities
- Build generative media models for video regeneration, lip-sync, video translation, and photorealistic audio/video synthesis.
- Develop zero-shot voice and room-tone cloning systems from short reference recordings.
- Create multimodal vision-language systems and evaluation methods for agentic editing features, balancing quality, cost, and latency.
- Solve computer-vision problems involving digital human reconstruction, facial modeling, and natural editing tools.
- Develop algorithms for media synthesis, speech enhancement, anomaly detection, and audio/video tagging.
- Identify and pursue research directions that can become production features.
- Own problems end to end, including framing, experimentation, analysis, and communication.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement deep learning algorithms through publications, open-source work, or shipped models.
- Strong programming skills and deep fluency in PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
- Track record of generating and rapidly evaluating machine-learning ideas.
- Strong experimental judgment and ability to assess unsuccessful approaches honestly.
- PhD or master's degree in deep learning or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Either lead/first authorship of an accepted publication in a top venue or a key role shipping a production feature with deep learning as a core component.
- Senior and Staff candidates should have experience owning research direction and mentoring or technically leading researchers or engineers.

Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: $261,625–$299,000, plus equity and benefits.
