Responsibilities

  • Lead an engineering squad to deliver customer value from planning through delivery, quality, and follow-through.
  • Set milestones, maintain execution through ambiguity and competing priorities, and ship in small, observable increments.
  • Make confident decisions when the path is unclear and lead the team through them.
  • Establish an operating rhythm that helps the team move quickly without unnecessary ceremony.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, architecturally sound, flexible, and secure, with strong peer review, QA, documentation, deployment, logging, and monitoring practices.
  • Participate in design reviews, architecture discussions, and incident response.
  • Coach direct reports and create meaningful development opportunities.
  • Hire, onboard, and manage performance.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate team velocity, prototyping, and delivery.
  • Partner across engineering and other departments to align efforts with customer success.

Requirements

  • 3+ years managing engineers at a SaaS company, ideally in an early- to mid-stage environment.
  • Track record of driving execution and delivering outcomes with clear milestones, dates, and ownership.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to participate in architecture conversations and design reviews.
  • Recent experience shipping technical work.
  • Ability to operate autonomously, create clarity, and make difficult tradeoffs.
  • Demonstrated AI-native leadership, including introducing AI-first practices to team workflows.
  • Experience building high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative teams.
  • Clear, concise, and direct verbal and written communication.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting salary: $185,000-$215,000 USD, or equivalent in local currency, depending on experience and subject to market-rate adjustment.
