About the role

Responsibilities

  • Build cutting-edge autonomous capabilities through cross-functional collaboration with vision, planning & controls, deep learning, infrastructure, embedded, cloud, mobile, design, product, and flight test teams.
  • Develop core robotics algorithms to expand autonomous operational envelope in challenging conditions (night time, urban canyons, GNSS/C2 interference, at sea, precipitation).
  • Triage customer issues, recognize trends, and improve system resilience.
  • Research investments in simulated and real-life test infrastructure.
  • Develop deep understanding of core robotics principles and system workings.
  • Help across full software stack, maintaining code quality and addressing tech debt.
  • Conceive, design, implement, simulate, evaluate, and fly new motion planning strategies.

Requirements

  • 1+ years experience writing production-level code for autonomous robots (preferably flying robots).
  • High proficiency in C++ and Python.
  • Practical experience implementing state-of-the-art algorithms in robotics-adjacent areas: computer vision, state estimation, motion planning, controls, sensor characterization/integration, UAS software/hardware.
  • Highly curious, creative, strong communication to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals; commitment to clean, maintainable code.

Compensation

  • Annual base salary range: $147,000 - $210,000.
  • Equity (stock options), comprehensive benefits (health insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, 401K).
