About the role

Responsibilities

  • Create, implement, and maintain internal and external safety data gathering, analysis, and reporting processes.
  • Support implementation of safety learnings, data programs, processes, and dashboards for awareness and decision-making.
  • Continuously improve data pipelines, triage processes, and dashboard functionality.
  • Leverage AI tools (LLMs/VLMs, prompt engineering, context engineering) for event summarization, semi-automated triage, and workflow automation.
  • Support development and implementation of operational safety and compliance programs.
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards in Looker and Databricks.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Data Science, Robotics, Statistics, or related field.
  • 4+ years experience with large-scale datasets, preferably in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or safety-critical systems.
  • Strong programming skills in Python (pandas, PySpark) and advanced SQL/Spark.
  • Experience designing and maintaining dashboards in Looker, Databricks, Tableau, or similar.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail in analyzing technical, engineering, or forensic data.
  • Familiarity with AI tools (LLMs/VLMs, prompt engineering, context engineering).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and communicating technical content.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with NHTSA SGO, TREAD, or State AV reporting requirements.
  • Experience in automated vehicle systems, diagnostic data, or large-scale fleet data.
  • Understanding of AV stack components and vehicle behavior.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or technical field.
  • Certification in Safety or Automotive systems.
