Staff Product Designer
Senior Product Designer creating playful, high-quality learning experiences across Duolingo’s mobile apps, website, and communications. The role requires strong visual and interaction design craft, rapid high-fidelity prototyping, product-scaling experience, and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities
- Design and prototype simple, playful learning experiences for the Duolingo app.
- Drive large workstreams independently and lead projects across the team.
- Provide peer leadership and mentorship across Duolingo Design.
- Collaborate with designers and artists to expand Duolingo’s design language.
- Partner with engineers and product managers to define product direction and execution.
- Consider animation, copy, user interface, and business impact in crafted experiences.
Requirements
- Online portfolio featuring simple consumer mobile apps.
- Exceptional visual design and interaction-detail skills.
- Fluency in creating high-fidelity prototypes quickly.
- Experience shipping products at scale within a product organization.
- Ability to explain design work and decisions simply and concisely.
- Openness to feedback and comfort solving difficult problems amid ambiguity and complexity.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience using AI and large language models to develop ideas from scratch.
- Deep understanding of brand and its role in business.

Compensation
- Base salary range: $150,000–$200,000 USD.
- Base salary is supplemented by equity compensation.
