Senior Software Engineer, AI Authentication
Build scalable authentication and identity services for generative AI applications within Auth0’s AI Authentication team. The role requires strong JavaScript or TypeScript, Node.js, SQL/NoSQL database, security, API, and distributed-systems experience.

Responsibilities
- Build innovative identity and security features and standards for the Agentic AI era.
- Build and maintain scalable services using TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and senior engineers to deliver identity and access features for generative AI applications.
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code; participate in code reviews and system design discussions.
- Contribute to observability and alerting systems to support service reliability and performance.
- Work on complex distributed systems and continuously develop technical depth.
Requirements
- Solid programming experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and familiarity with Node.js runtime environments.
- Practical experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Ability to write well-tested, high-quality code.
- Experience working in an iterative development environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously and seek support when appropriate.
- Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, ownership, and drive.
- Experience with architecture principles across infrastructure, security, data, integration, and application layers.
- Experience building resilient, scalable products.
Nice-to-haves
- Understanding of identity and access management concepts.
- Experience using AI agents.
- Experience creating and maintaining public and secure APIs.
- Curiosity about the intersection of AI, identity, and security.
- Experience with identity and access management software and concepts.
- Knowledge of observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry.
Compensation and benefits
- Annual base salary range in Canada: $136,000–$187,000 CAD.
