Accounting - Founding Hire
Builds accounting infrastructure for high-growth dual-use tech company, owning financial statements, month-end closes, revenue recognition per ASC 606, internal controls, treasury, and audits. Requires CPA, 7+ years experience, deep GAAP expertise.
Responsibilities
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including footnotes, disclosures, and supporting schedules.
- Perform month-end and year-end close, including general ledger reconciliations, ensuring US GAAP compliance.
- Manage and align chart of accounts to business needs.
- Develop cost allocation processes with charge codes for teams, projects, and customers.
- Oversee operational accounting: accounts payable, receivable, invoicing, cash application, customer data.
- Assign revenue recognition per ASC 606, review contracts, track gross margins.
- Establish internal controls, policies, and procedures for procure-to-pay and quote-to-cash.
- Manage cash/treasury: forecasting, liquidity, disbursements.
- Ensure financial data integrity across systems; improve integrations with billing, CRM, expense platforms.
- Coordinate external audits and SOX compliance.
Requirements
- CPA certification with 7+ years progressive accounting experience, including public accounting or high-growth startups.
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
- Deep US GAAP knowledge; financial reporting, audits, accounting systems implementation.
- Ownership mentality for end-to-end accounting.
- Systems builder: build/automate processes.
- Dynamic leader and team player.

Compensation
Base pay: $150,000 – $210,000 per year.
