Responsibilities
- Build, operate, and support Twilio’s global IT network infrastructure.
- Track network assets, including hardware and software.
- Monitor network performance, availability, utilization, throughput, and latency, providing measurable metrics to IT leadership.
- Collaborate with stakeholder teams to determine current and future network needs.
- Prioritize projects and work according to business priorities using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Develop methods and tools to test and implement new LAN/WAN systems.
- Analyze network structures and improve efficiency, scalability, and sustainability.
- Formulate strategies to maintain and upgrade network systems efficiently.
- Respond to incidents, troubleshoot network issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve connectivity problems.
- Create and maintain documentation for network designs, IT network standards, and processes.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building campus and/or data center network infrastructure, AWS cloud services, and networking.
- 5+ years of experience with Cisco LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi and Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
- 3+ years of experience with AWS cloud services and networking.
- Advanced knowledge of IEEE 802 standards and core IETF networking protocols, including the 802.11 suite, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching protocols.
- Hands-on knowledge of network monitoring.
- Knowledge of network security and implementing security policies for compliance.
- Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and Linux client networking.
- Experience troubleshooting network problems across different OSI model layers.
- University degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification.
- AWS certification.
- Zscaler Zero Trust Systems experience or certifications.
- Scripting experience with API automation.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Knowledge of the ITIL framework and its application in network environments.
