Software Engineer - Data Center

Build and operate reliable full-stack and backend systems that support data center operations, including workflow tools, operational state tracking, integrations, dashboards, and production infrastructure. About the role

Responsibilities

  • Build and operate software stacks that make site operations scalable, auditable, and fast, including repair trackers, vendor turnback workflows, operational dashboards, and integrations.
  • Design, build, and operate multi-service production systems spanning user interfaces, APIs, data pipelines, authentication, and on-call operations.
  • Own the correctness of operational state, including node-state accuracy, queue ownership, and audit trails.
  • Build and maintain integrations with ticketing, inventory and rack systems, telemetry stores, and vendor portals.
  • Maintain reliability through uptime, data integrity, reconciliation, access control, and safe deployments.
  • Work closely with SiteOps and NOC users and measure workflow adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience building and operating production software.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and networking.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Rust, Python, JavaScript, Java, or C++.
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs for mission-critical applications.
  • Experience with a database such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, or DynamoDB.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with a cloud platform such as Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, AWS, or OCI.
  • Experience using observability tools and dashboards such as New Relic, Splunk, or Grafana.
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Full-stack or backend and data experience, especially with workflow and state-machine systems.
  • Experience automating deployments with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Argo CD, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience building high-correctness operational user interfaces.
  • On-call experience and a production-focused approach to internal platforms.
  • Experience designing and shipping multi-service systems involving APIs, data stores, user interfaces, pipelines, or authentication.
  • Experience delivering internal tools in rapidly changing environments.
  • Ownership of correctness-sensitive state machines, workflows, or operational data systems.
  • Experience integrating external systems through APIs.
  • Experience collaborating with operations, NOC, and infrastructure teams.
  • Experience with performance load-testing tools such as BlazeMeter or k6.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Work Arrangement

  • Fully onsite in Memphis, TN or Southaven, MS.
  • Candidates should be located near the area or open to relocation.
