Sr. Accountant

Responsibilities

• Assist in the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate recording of journal entries, account reconciliation, and variance analysis.
• Oversee and optimize the management of fixed assets, prepaid assets, and revenue.
• Continuously seek and implement process improvements within the accounting function to drive efficiency, compliance, and financial integrity.
• Assist in the development and implementation of scalable accounting processes for timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Play a key role in the annual external audit process by preparing documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and implementing recommendations.
• Perform additional ad-hoc requests throughout the year.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a strong background in both private and public industry sectors, including audit, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and US GAAP.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, with high accuracy and attention to detail in variance analysis and financial data interpretation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments.
• Desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment.
• Proficiency in Excel.

Nice-to-Haves

• CPA or CMA certification.
• Experience with Netsuite.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary: $110,000 - $130,000 (New York City).
