About the job

About the Work

Depending on your skill set and areas of interest you will work on some or all of the following:

  • Data Platform: Comprehensive management system for Nuro AI Driver's data, labels, and metrics. Focuses on data annotation (2D/3D perception, mapping, behavior trajectory, language/text), data ingestion/mining (heuristics, embedding search), and autonomy evaluation infrastructure.

  • Onboard Systems: Provides reliable, high-performance platform for autonomy software integration across self-driving platforms. Collaborates with software, hardware, and systems/safety teams to ensure safe, reliable operation and resolve errors/performance issues.

  • ML Infrastructure: Accelerates ML-first autonomy with distributed training platform, ML compiler, model components libraries. Optimizes cloud training and onboard inference; embeds in ML teams for cutting-edge deep learning.

  • Simulation: Builds simulator for developing/testing autonomous driving in virtual settings. Covers core simulator/frameworks, sensor simulation, scenario generation, and real-world/synthetic data combinations for scalable, realistic simulation.

  • Technical Infrastructure: Owns generic compute platform (data processing, simulation), storage management (hundreds of PB), cloud IaaC, and engineering productivity tools (build, CI/CD).

About You

  • Current BS or MS candidate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field graduating in December 2026 or later.
  • Experience in: backend API design, applications development, large-scale distributed systems; data storage/processing; advanced algorithms using C++ and Python; machine learning, multithreading; x86 architecture; software performance tuning/optimization; robotics software frameworks; compute modalities (CPU, GPU, FPGA), etc.
  • Strong problem solving and programming skills.
