About the job
Responsibilities
- Own performance, optimization, and debugging of the TCU (Telematics Control Unit)
- Analyze diagnostics and log outputs across cellular networks, 4G/5G modem, internal software layer, WiFi, and more
- Proactively design, facilitate, and evaluate advanced testing campaigns using industry-standard network emulation tools (e.g., Keysight UXM) to identify cellular edge cases and vulnerabilities
- Ensure all interfaces are well-architected, documented, and validated (RF-baseband, baseband-protocol stack, AP to host, etc.)
- Define component integration plans from bring-up to advanced functions; design and execute comprehensive test plans spanning hardware bring-up through large-scale fleet deployment
- Perform challenging log reviews and cross-functional system integration analysis to identify root causes and propose solutions
- Provide insights and feedback to improve performance and reliability of connectivity systems based on expertise in connectivity software and protocols
- Review, adjust, or author Software, Firmware, and integration design specifications and requirements
Requirements
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or similar discipline with 8+ years of experience
- Expertise in developing 3GPP cellular (4G, 5G-NR) / WiFi / Satellite feature test plans
- Expertise debugging 4G-LTE / 5G-NR Protocol layers (MAC, L1, RF, FW)
- Expertise in LTE/5G Protocol Stacks (NAS, PDCP, RRC, RLC, MAC, PHY)
- Ability to use cellular network analysis tools (QXDM, Shannon Tools, Wireshark) and develop/automate log frameworks
- Hands-on experience configuring/programming wireless test platforms (UXM, CMX500, SMBv100, Spirent)
