About the role

Responsibilities

  • Drive the strategy and roadmap end-to-end for Reporting across web, mobile, and embedded experiences.
  • Define the vision for how traditional reports and AI-driven answers integrate with Gusto's AI transformation.
  • Ship customer-facing value every cycle, balancing basics with future initiatives.
  • Partner with Pay and Benefits teams to deliver end-to-end reporting capabilities.
  • Drive data infrastructure forward, including data migration prioritization.
  • Set up and track metrics for reporting quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Foster collaboration with engineering, design, data, and partner product teams.

Requirements

  • Customer obsession: Deep understanding of small business data needs via research, CX, support, and usage data.
  • Real AI fluency: Daily use of AI tools; experience building or scoping AI-powered features with a point of view on AI-native reporting.
  • Bias toward shipping: Set short milestones, use staged rollouts, balance platform and customer progress.
  • Technical fluency in data: Comfortable with data pipelines, models, APIs, and migration trade-offs.
  • Cross-functional partnership: Treat partner teams as customers, provide clear paths forward.
  • Clear, direct communication: Tell compelling stories about complex systems, provide honest updates.
  • Strategic clarity: Balance near-term and long-term vision, sequence work for continuous value.

Experience

  • 8+ years of hands-on product management experience.
  • Experience with data products, analytics tools, reporting platforms, or infrastructure products.
  • Track record of shipping customer-facing improvements at pace.
  • Experience with AI-powered product features or data experiences.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, and data.
  • Balancing back-end platform and front-end customer experience.
