Electrical Engineering Intern

Electrical Engineering Interns will design and validate avionics assemblies, test fixtures, and related power, communications, and RF systems. The role requires current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering or related STEM program and hands-on multidisciplinary hardware project experience.

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements and design and validate multiple avionics assemblies and/or test fixtures.
  • Design systems involving power electronics, communications, RF, and related electrical engineering disciplines.
  • Design test stands and test fixtures that may include relays, PLCs, PCB assemblies, harnesses, and other electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Use Python to automate test sequences, perform analysis, and run simulations.
  • Contribute to and attend cross-functional design reviews.
  • Advocate for design changes that simplify manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate, graduate, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, programming, physics, and mathematics fundamentals.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary hardware development projects through an internship, job, club, team, or personal project.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership of project outcomes and ability to deliver high-quality results.
  • Ability to work hard, collaborate as a trustworthy teammate, maintain high standards, and treat others respectfully.

Nice-to-haves

  • Expected graduation in December 2027 or Spring 2028.
  • Experience with PCB schematic and layout tools such as Altium, KiCad, or Eagle.
  • Experience with Python or another scripting language.
  • Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA.
  • Adaptability, agility, and ability to innovate under pressure in response to dynamic project demands.
