Principal Software Engineer - AI
The Principal Software Engineer will build and scale Snowflake’s customer-facing AI Functions products and distributed AI services. The role requires 14+ years of production systems experience, strong computer science fundamentals, AI/ML expertise, and proficiency in Python or Java.

Responsibilities
- Build customer-facing AI Functions products.
- Design and implement highly scalable distributed platforms within the global Snowflake platform.
- Participate in technical and business decision-making.
- Collaborate with engineers across teams on cross-functional initiatives.
- Ensure operational readiness and meet customer commitments for reliability, availability, and performance.
Requirements
- 14+ years of industry experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale production systems.
- Passion for artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing.
- Deep, multifaceted experience building end-to-end customer-facing products.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Fluency in Python or Java.
- Bachelor's, master's, or PhD in computer science or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of C, C++, or Go.
- Experience working across teams and with product managers.
