Responsibilities
- Own the operational close calendar and quality across sub-ledger close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage dependencies between sub-ledger close, general ledger close, and Financial Reporting handoff.
- Apply US GAAP across procure-to-pay, payroll, fixed assets, prepaids, and intercompany cycles; partner with Technical Accounting on judgment matters.
- Review and analyze US GAAP financial statements and assist with annual audit footnotes.
- Supervise procure-to-pay operations, including purchasing workflows, purchase orders, invoice coding and approvals, posting, and reconciliation.
- Mentor and develop the AP Lead and Staff Accountant; delegate complex work and support high-potential employees.
- Own process-level controls, control design decisions, auditor relationships, and remediation of deficiencies.
- Lead ERP and sub-ledger optimization, set the operational accounting systems roadmap, and partner with IT and Engineering on delivery.
- Implement AI-enabled workflows and document standardized, measurable accounting processes.
- Manage cross-functional relationships with FP&A, external auditors, and tax advisors.
Requirements
- 7+ years of accounting experience, including 3 years in high-growth technology or public accounting serving high-growth technology clients.
- Experience managing and developing accounting professionals.
- Hands-on ownership of close cycles, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and US GAAP financial statement preparation.
- Working knowledge of process-level internal controls and external audit requirements.
- Experience improving ERP and sub-ledger processes, ideally including end-to-end workflow automation.
- Strong critical thinking, prioritization, communication, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- CPA preferred.
- NetSuite experience preferred.
