Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager

Own complex technical accounting matters, financial reporting policies, contract reviews, and audit-ready conclusions for a rapidly scaling technology company. The role requires 7+ years of accounting experience, strong U.S. GAAP expertise, and a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical accounting positions under U.S. GAAP for complex transactions, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), business combinations (ASC 805), and stock-based compensation (ASC 718), supported by audit-ready memos.
  • Review non-standard customer contracts with Legal, Sales, Founders Office, Revenue Operations, and Finance to determine revenue treatment for new products and pricing.
  • Own equity and stock-based compensation accounting, including 409A and award valuations with external specialists, as well as M&A and financing activity.
  • Build scalable technical accounting policies, infrastructure, and controls.
  • Drive conclusions with external auditors and technical consultants and strengthen external reporting toward IPO readiness.
  • Track new accounting standards and communicate their implications to leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA or equivalent designation preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Big Four/public accounting and industry experience at a high-growth technology or SaaS company.
  • Hands-on technical accounting expertise in ASC 606, ASC 805, and ASC 718, including drafting memos for complex, non-routine transactions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical accounting conclusions to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to independently own ambiguous, high-stakes problems in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with lease accounting (ASC 842), capitalized software (ASC 350-40), or debt and equity instruments (ASC 480).
  • Familiarity with ERP and financial reporting tools.
  • Experience using AI and automation tools for technical accounting research, memo drafting, or audit support.
