Responsibilities
Lead and grow front-end and backend engineering teams responsible for platform and application delivery.
Own delivery against timeline, scope, and quality from concept through general availability.
Lead AI transformation across development by embedding AI-assisted tooling and practices throughout the SDLC.
Manage a development manager overseeing a customer operations engineering team.
Drive the technical roadmap for identity and access, including SSO, multi-organization membership, and account linking.
Partner with the CTO and Product to translate strategy into an executable engineering roadmap.
Oversee payment and commissions integrations from API design through production support.
Establish and enforce UAT and release processes, including environment promotion approvals.
Own security posture and remediate dependency and vulnerability alerts within SLA.
Partner with Support and DevOps to triage production issues and prioritize the Jira backlog.
Represent engineering in external and industry forums, including the NIPR Company Advisory Board.
Report roadmap, risk, and delivery status to engineering and business leadership.
Requirements
10+ years of experience managing backend or platform engineering teams, ideally in B2B SaaS, insurtech, regtech, or another compliance-heavy domain.
Experience integrating AI-assisted development tools and practices into engineering workflows, with measurable improvements in velocity or quality.
Ability to operate effectively amid ambiguity and organizational change while maintaining delivery excellence.
Experience shipping through a UAT and release process and running a disciplined vulnerability remediation program.
Direct experience with identity and access management, including SSO/OIDC, multi-tenant authentication, and account or organization membership models.
Experience with systems involving regulatory compliance, licensing, or financial data.
Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Support, DevOps, Security, Professional Services, and Sales.
Hands-on technical background in Go and/or Java backend services, with the ability to review architecture and unblock engineers.
Clear written and verbal communication across distributed teams.
