Controls Engineer, Commissioning Automation
Engineer automated commissioning for data center control systems by embedding test sequences into BMS/PLC logic, building test libraries, executing on live sites, analyzing failures, and driving upstream design fixes. Requires hands-on commissioning experience writing test procedures for building/data center controls.
About the job
Responsibilities
- Engineer automated commissioning from the controls side: test sequences written into the control layer itself.
- Build the functional test library: every device and sequence in the reference design with an automated test to match.
- Run automated commissioning on live sites: execute, analyze, and disposition failures with the field team.
- Feed results upstream: design and controls standards fixed where tests keep failing.
Requirements
- Commissioned building or data center control systems hands-on.
- Written the test procedures, not just executed them.
- Program BMS or PLC platforms well enough to embed tests in logic.
- Analyze trend data to find the failure the point check missed.
- Turned repeat findings into upstream fixes.
Nice-to-Haves
- L4 and L5 commissioning at scale.
- Tridium, ALC, Siemens, or PLC platforms.
- Analytics tooling.
- Electrical commissioning interface.
