Business Analyst II - Fraud

Analyzes high-volume transactional data to identify fraud trends, quantify risk, and improve fraud controls while protecting legitimate players. The role requires advanced SQL, dashboarding and visualization skills, fraud or risk analytics experience, and strong communication with cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver analytical work that protects the platform while improving the experience for legitimate players.
  • Build, document, and maintain dashboards and reusable analyses to monitor fraud performance and key risk indicators.
  • Distill complex datasets into recommendations, visualizations, and concise talking points for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Partner with Engineering, Fraud Operations, and Product to identify and close data, performance, and process gaps.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to support fraud-related business decisions.
  • Scope and complete ad hoc data requests involving fraud trends and product initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in risk analytics, fraud detection, or a related data-focused field.
  • Understanding of payment fraud, identity fraud, bonus abuse, and other fraud vectors in online transactional environments.
  • Advanced SQL skills for extracting, manipulating, and analyzing data.
  • Data visualization experience, such as Tableau.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong data-driven critical thinking, problem-solving, judgment, organization, accuracy, and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in online gaming, Daily Fantasy Sports, or fintech.
  • Python experience for automation, modeling, or statistical analysis.
