Staff Product Designer, Financial Services Lead

Responsibilities
- Lead design strategy and execution across Coinbase One membership, CB1 Card, and the broader Loyalty surface area across multiple product and engineering pods.
- Act as a player/coach and develop a team of product designers, providing structured coaching, career development, and regular design critiques.
- Partner with senior Product and Engineering leaders to shape roadmaps, drive alignment, and represent design in leadership forums.
- Drive 0-to-1 strategic design work, including membership evolution, retention mechanics, and rewards experiences.
- Set and maintain a high quality bar across Loyalty surfaces through structured review processes, including design critiques, DRRs, and workbench sessions.
- Represent Loyalty design in executive-level reviews and cross-functional leadership syncs.
Requirements
- 8+ years of product design experience.
- Proven track record leading design for subscription, loyalty, or membership products at scale with 1M+ users.
- Experience partnering with senior product and engineering leaders to shape strategy, define roadmaps, and influence prioritization.
- Ability to set systems-level vision while simultaneously shipping high-quality work on weekly or biweekly cadences.
- Experience managing individual-contributor designers through structured feedback loops, promotion cycles, and measurable career growth outcomes.
- Familiarity with consumer fintech, payments, or credit card product design.
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base salary range: $207,485–$244,100 USD, excluding equity and bonus.
- Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
