About the role
Responsibilities
Own web design and UX end-to-end for the Breakout website, landing pages, and conversion flows, from wireframe to dev-ready handoff.
Build an AI-powered design system with components, templates, prompts, and automations to enable the wider team (Conversion, Social, Lifecycle, Marketing Ops) to self-serve on-brand assets.
Extend the design system across lifecycle email, organic social, campaign visuals, and brand assets to maintain consistency.
Own and evolve the Breakout brand system, guidelines, component library, and asset toolkit.
Use AI tools (Claude Design, Figma Make, Nano Banana Pro, etc.) as the primary production engine to rapidly generate high-fidelity output.
Create fast, clickable, code-backed prototypes for testing and iteration.
Partner with engineering for clean handoffs and component implementation.
Set and raise the design quality bar across web, email, and social.
Document systems, guidelines, prompt libraries, and how-tos for the organization.
Collaborate closely with Conversion, Content, Social, Lifecycle, Marketing Operations, and Payward's (Kraken's) design and brand teams.
Requirements
5+ years of hands-on web and digital design experience with a strong portfolio of shipped web and marketing design in fast-moving environments.
Deep expertise in web UX and conversion design, including information architecture, responsive layout, design systems, interaction design, and Figma handoff to developers.
Strong, demonstrable experience designing with AI tools day-to-day (Claude Design, Figma AI/Make, Nano Banana Pro essential).
Systems-thinking approach: experience building design systems, components, templates, and tooling that enable non-designers to produce on-brand work.
Ability to design across marketing surfaces (web, lifecycle email, organic social, brand assets) as a cohesive system.
Brand sensibility that supports fast shipping without compromising consistency.
Prototyping skills; ability to create clickable, code-backed prototypes (HTML/CSS or AI-assisted code a plus).
Strong collaboration and communication skills for handoffs, Slack collaboration, and enabling non-designers.
Bias to ship: proactive in prototyping, proposing, building, and iterating.
Crypto-native or genuinely curious about crypto, trading, and prop trading.
Nice-to-Haves
Experience designing and iterating performance creative for paid ads (static, motion, video) at volume.
Motion and video design skills (After Effects, Rive, or AI motion tools).
Front-end coding ability (HTML/CSS/React or AI code tools like v0 or Lovable).

Experience building or running a design system used by cross-functional teams at scale.
