Senior Software Engineer, AI
Build and expand customer-facing agentic AI products, MCP integrations, and automated reconciliation workflows for private fund management. The role requires senior-level software engineering, strong systems thinking, product judgment, and hands-on experience building and evaluating AI systems.

Responsibilities
- Build customer-facing AI capabilities, including chatbots, embedded agent assistance, and in-product workflows that simplify complex, multi-step tasks.
- Define and implement patterns for safely connecting agents with Maybern data through the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
- Build agentic workflows such as automated spreadsheet reconciliation.
- Partner with product managers, domain experts, customers, and engineers to identify high-value agent applications.
- Improve support for customer skills, complex multi-step tasks, unified agent sessions, and email-triggered workflows.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on software engineering experience shipping production software.
- Experience reasoning through complex software architecture, data flows, and dependencies.
- Product-focused mindset with the ability to connect technical decisions to customer value.
- Experience building and evaluating agentic AI systems, including understanding outputs and failure modes.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, rapidly evolving environments.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across product, engineering, domain, and customer stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building agents, chatbots, MCPs, or other AI-powered product experiences.
- Experience with fund-accounting workflows or financial products.
- Experience translating agentic systems into reliable production capabilities.
Compensation and Benefits
- $180,000–$230,000 annual salary plus equity.
