About the role

Responsibilities

Own Lyft’s social voice and daily reaction engine

  • Maintain a consistent Lyft voice across comments, replies, DMs, and reposts on Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Reddit, and LinkedIn.
  • Drive and manage the Threads channel, including replies and owned responses.
  • Lead surprise-and-delight initiatives on social and drive earned impact with creators.
  • Monitor successful comments and conversations and communicate their impact.
  • Manage day-to-day content publishing across Lyft’s consumer social accounts, including scheduling, copy, final QA, and in-platform posting.

Participate proactively in culture

  • Spend time on social platforms listening for relevant conversations.
  • Repost and engage with user-generated content, partnering with Support to quickly escalate rider and driver issues with the right context.
  • Bring proactive opportunities to the team with a point of view on the moment, Lyft’s role, and the appropriate response.

Report on social performance and insights

  • Socialize wins, learnings, and cultural insights across the organization through recaps, readouts, and highlight reels.
  • Turn engagement into a narrative covering what happened, what was learned, and next steps.
  • Feed community signals back into Product, Brand, and Comms to inform decisions.
  • Own recurring and ad hoc social reporting on channel performance, engagement, sentiment, community health, and trend forecasting.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in social media, community management, or a closely related role at an agency or consumer brand.
  • Strong, concise writing skills, with the ability to shift between short-form social replies and stakeholder summaries.
  • Proactive, fast-paced approach and the ability to identify conversations and opportunities independently.
  • Deep fluency with social listening and user-generated content tools such as Sprinklr, Brandwatch, Dash Social, Later, or similar platforms.
  • Strong awareness of internet culture and social platforms.
  • Sound editorial judgment, including knowing when to engage, hold back, or escalate sensitive issues.
  • Comfort interpreting performance and sentiment data and turning insights into recommendations.
  • High emotional intelligence and patience when interacting with frustrated riders or drivers.

Compensation

  • Expected base pay range in the New York City area: $108,000–$135,000 per year, excluding potential equity, bonus, and benefits.
