Senior Mobile Engineer
Build and lead Android-focused mobile experiences for personalized offers, working across iOS and backend as needed. The role requires 4+ years of mobile engineering experience, strong Kotlin and modern Android architecture skills, product judgment, experimentation experience, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities
- Partner with product and design from problem definition through execution, including writing specifications.
- Build and refine systems that source, match, and surface offers based on customer value, relevance, and business outcomes.
- Work across the stack, owning Android while contributing to iOS or backend as needed.
- Use AI coding tools and agents for cross-stack code generation, spec-driven development, and faster iteration.
- Translate customer pain points and business goals into technical solutions, challenging assumptions when data suggests a better path.
- Run and instrument experiments, including A/B tests, targeting logic, funnels, and retention analysis.
- Design and implement APIs in collaboration with backend engineers.
- Develop scalable application architecture.
- Drive mobile application development and testing strategies.
- Ship iteratively by prioritizing MVPs and balancing speed with quality.
- Create unit and UI automation tests.
- Act as a tech lead, owning projects end-to-end from specification through launch and iteration.
- Mentor and partner with junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
- 4+ years of industry experience building, shipping, and maintaining mobile applications at scale, with a strong focus on Android.
- Product mindset with the ability to shape high-level ideas into product specifications.
- Experience owning projects end-to-end and mentoring or guiding junior engineers.
- Willingness to work across Android, iOS, and backend stacks.
- Experience with AI-native development workflows and AI coding tools.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Fluency in Kotlin and strong knowledge of reactive and functional paradigms.
- Experience with Coroutines/Flow and RxJava.
- Experience with modern Android architectures, including MVVM, MVI, MVP, and Clean Architecture.
- Experience with Jetpack components, XML layouts, and Jetpack Compose.
- Knowledge of software engineering practices across the SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, Git workflows, CI/CD, automated testing, and mobile release operations.
- Familiarity with identity verification, authentication, and authorization protocols.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with mobile analytics and experimentation tools such as Amplitude, feature flags, and A/B testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with iOS or backend development.
- Interest in personalization, targeting, and messaging.
Compensation and Benefits
- Vancouver, Canada base salary: $199,800–$244,200, plus equity and benefits.
- Hybrid role requiring two days per week in the Vancouver office.
