Product Engineer - Parse

Build and own developer-facing document-parsing features that transform complex files into reliable, LLM-ready markdown and structured JSON. The role requires at least three years of shipping products or APIs used by developers, strong product judgment, and comfort solving ambiguous parsing problems.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship developer-facing document-parsing features from idea through production.
  • Own the reliability and quality of parsed output across PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, scanned files, and mixed-format documents.
  • Solve layout detection, table structure, reading order, and OCR-routing challenges through clean, developer-friendly APIs.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team on roadmap priorities and product tradeoffs.
  • Use product dogfooding, GitHub issues, and developer feedback to guide development.

Requirements

  • 3+ years building and shipping developer-facing products.
  • Experience delivering products, features, or APIs used by real customers or developers.
  • Strong focus on developer experience, including latency, output schemas, documentation, and usability.
  • Ability to own ambiguous problems and turn them into shipped features.
  • Comfortable moving quickly, measuring results, and iterating.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not currently available.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $235,000–$260,000 per year for U.S.-based employees in San Francisco, CA.
  • Competitive equity.
