- Help define the roadmap and architecture based on technology and business needs.
- Unblock, support, communicate effectively, and obtain buy-in across teams to achieve results.
- Lead multi-person projects from ideation through successful execution.
- Write clear, scalable design documentation.
- Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code.
- Use Python, Golang, and AWS to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge.
- Proactively participate in resolving ongoing incidents.
- Share knowledge through tech talks, mentorship, and evangelizing appropriate technology and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree, or equivalent, in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; relevant work experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of software engineering industry experience.
- Extensive experience with object-oriented programming, ideally in Go or Python.
- Backend software development experience with large-scale distributed systems and concurrency.
- Experience working with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners.
Compensation and Benefits
- Expected base pay range in the Toronto area: $136,000–$170,000 CAD.
