Key Responsibilities
- Build, assemble, and align complex mechanical systems with large/small components, precision hardware, and multistage assemblies.
- Perform electrical diagnostics, continuity checks, power testing, and root-cause analysis on wiring, PCBs, sensors, and control systems.
- Install, test, and maintain water-cooled subsystems including pumps, manifolds, flow sensors, and leak-detection components.
- Execute hands-on prototype and lab operations with minimal direction, often using incomplete drawings or evolving inputs.
- Set up test equipment, log performance data, and provide feedback to engineering teams.
- Create or refine build instructions, test procedures, troubleshooting guides; open issue tickets with observations, data, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to validate designs and propose solutions.
- Maintain safe practices around high-voltage, rotating equipment, pressure, and thermal systems.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years hands-on experience as an engineering technician in mechanical, electrical, or multidisciplinary hardware environments.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in dynamic R&D or prototype lab.
- Proficiency in mechanical assembly (torquing, alignment, precision fitting) and interpreting mechanical drawings.
- Experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, and safe handling of energized systems.
- Experience with water-cooled or fluid-cooled systems (installation, leak testing, flow verification).
- Ability to read/interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, test procedures.
- Skilled with lab tools: multimeters, oscilloscopes, torque tools, calipers, flow meters, data-logging equipment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for diagnosing ambiguous mechanical/electrical issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting prototype hardware, early-stage product development, or research environments.
- Experience with thermal systems, heat exchangers, or coolant loop design.
- Ability to create/update work instructions, test plans, build documentation.
- Comfort with large assemblies, tight tolerances, high-precision components.
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Compensation
Base salary range: $180,000 - $240,000 annually. Actual compensation may include bonus and equity, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
