Responsibilities
- Architect and build robust, scalable, highly available distributed infrastructure.
- Build a cloud-native platform on public cloud providers and automate cloud resource management.
- Execute infrastructure optimization initiatives across compute, storage, and networking.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop high-performance, reliable, cost-effective SaaS solutions.
- Improve cost efficiency through distributed systems and industry best practices.
- Partner with business stakeholders to design and build tooling for cost-efficiency insights.
- Lead and ship large-scope technical projects in collaboration with experienced engineers.
- Debug production issues and contribute to availability, scalability, efficiency, and data governance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant software development experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
- Software development experience in Go, C/C++, Java, or another object-oriented language.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes.
- Experience developing cloud-native edge or service mesh services; Envoy and Istio are preferred.
- Understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security principles, including VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Knowledge of cloud security practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance standards such as SOC 2 and GDPR.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, ownership, accountability, and production-debugging skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a global team and business stakeholders.
