About the role
What You'll Be Working On
Support the on-site installation, quality assurance, functional checkout, testing, and commissioning of critical electrical infrastructure - including medium/low voltage switchgear, power transformers, switchboards, protection and control, UPS systems, and electrical equipment internal to the data center.
Monitor the deployment of advanced power backup and conditioning systems, including medium voltage UPS, backup generators, and BESS.
Support and direct involvement in substation protection system management.
Technical support for RFI process.
Technical support for temporary power and electrical switching.
Track construction progress against project milestones and ensure adherence to Basis of Design and engineering specifications - without compromising speed.
Support rapid resolution of RFIs (Requests for Information) and Field Engineering Directives (FEDs) between the contractors and the internal design team.
Own critical lessons learned and field service bulletins that have design ramifications, so that they can be carried back into specs and templating.
Support all levels 1-5 of commissioning activities in partnership with Crusoe’s Cx team, reviewing commissioning documents for technical accuracy and assurance of design intent met.
Be an electrical safety champion in partnership with Crusoe’s construction partners.
What You'll Bring to the Team
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
5+ years of experience in mission-critical environments supporting construction and/or operations.
Deep practical understanding of electrical power distribution equipment assembly and installation.
Hands-on experience with on site construction and partnering with third-party general contractors and electrical subcontractors.
Strong project management skills to assist in monitoring schedules, spotting bottlenecks, and driving on time completion in a technical position.
Ability to troubleshoot complex field installation issues and implement practical, code-compliant solutions on the fly.
Flexibility to travel frequently or reside near assigned project site - minimum of 50% of time on site.
Bonus Points
Professional Engineer (PE) License or EIT certification.
Direct experience overseeing the installation of high-density racks and their accompanying electrical infrastructure.
Mega Project construction experience in mission critical or heavy industry.
Certifications such as PMP, OSHA 30, or equivalent safety credentials.
